Simhat Torah

Simhat Torah is the culmination of the holy day season that began with Rosh Hashanah.  Literally, “Rejoicing of the Torah” Simhat Torah celebrates the cycle of reading the Five Books of Moses.  We end with the final passage from Deuteronomy and then begin with the initial passage from Genesis.  Great joy marked by singing, dancing and eating are the hallmarks of this festival.
